- Work with the Engineering Manager to discover new technology platforms and design new products in a timely manner as a member of various project teams
- Perform product development activities for new and modified designs according to the CBI Quality System procedures and instructions
- Perform process development activities necessary for implementing new and modified manufacturing processes at both pilot plants and commercial facilities
- In order to support development activities, gather critical information about the clinical application, including performance requirements and end-user needs
- Coordinate design verification and process qualification testing
- Analyze design and process risk in accordance with CBI Quality System procedures and instructions
- Developing and implementing new manufacturing documentation
- Communicate project updates to team members, management, and other stakeholders
- Conduct duties in accordance with the requirements of FDA 21 CFR 820.30, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971
- Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field, or a bachelor's degree with applicable experience
- Experienced candidates with at least three years in the industry are strongly preferred
- Capacity to design and execute experiments to support feasibility and development efforts
- Capable of accurately documenting complex laboratory activities with good documentation skills
- Biomaterial processing knowledge and interest in laboratory and manufacturing equipment and manufacturing processes
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, depending on the needs of the project
- Good task and time management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to effectively communicate task status and project updates to team members, managers, and stakeholders
- Capable of receiving and acting on ideas, suggestions, and feedback from peers, managers, and other stakeholders
- Working with animal tissues
- Background sufficient to understand medical and biotechnology terminology
- Development Engineer I is an entry level position
- Development Engineer II requires 2-4 years of experience
- Development Engineer III requires 5+ years of experience
