- The Balance Sheet Management and Treasury Finance (BSMTF) division of the CFO group provides executive management with accurate and timely forecasts of the balance sheet and net interest income (NII). Another critical BSMTF function is the measurement and analysis of Interest Rate Risk (IRR). Using this information, the company is able to position its balance sheet based on its risk appetite and expectations for interest rate changes.
- BSMTF maintains close partnerships with various groups within the organization, providing key input into key processes and strategic decisions. These partnerships focus on the following: (1) balance sheet composition and interest rate risk strategy, (2) strategic planning for the company’s three-year outlook with Corporate Planning and Finance, (3) setting the right strategy to accurately measure the profitability of assets and liabilities to ensure efficient usage of the balance sheet, (4) stress testing the balance sheet under adverse economic scenarios with the Global Stress Testing team and, (5) preparing the balance sheet and NII forecast with the Line of Business and Global Liquidity Management for the Global Resolution and Recovery Planning exercise.
- Within Balance Sheet Management and Treasury Finance, the Global Markets Forecasting team is primarily responsible for (1) analyzing data, reviewing LOB balance forecasts, and producing an empirically based independent forecast of Global Markets' net interest income (NII), and (2) updating the BSM balance sheet and NII forecast by legal entity with a focus on intercompany relationships.
- Data analysis, leveraging data and LOB feedback to improve forecast assumptions, and analyzing forecast trends and interest are some of the specifics of the role. Calculate risk results. Additionally, this role will help continue to drive integration across BSMTF and Treasury, including BSMTF The International Team, BSMTF Interest Rate Analytics, the BSMTF Forecast Team, GLM, SALM, etc
- At least 2 years of experience as an analyst in a financial institution
- - Bachelor's degree (quantitative finance, financial analysis, computer science, economics, or business administration) - or relevant work experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Business acumen for balance sheet products and net interest income
- Knowledge of financial market dynamics, interest rates, accounting, and financial products
- Expertise in MS Office tools, particularly Microsoft Excel (v lookups, pivot tables)
- Interested in challenging the status quo, willing to improve processes
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and make well-reasoned decisions with a high level of autonomy
