- Candidate(s) with experience with high-voltage equipment relays and transmission lines are specifically sought
- The position will primarily support the Gulfport region with maintenance I&C, commissioning activities, and troubleshooting emergent electrical issues.
- It is a field, travel-type position. Depending on the need, the travel could be national.
- Siemens may require this position to support new unit installation and commissioning activities.
- Knowledge of power transmission and distribution systems is required
- A four-year degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering or an equivalent technical degree or program from an accepted technical school or trade school; a combination of these and/or documented or verifiable experience in the electrical field;
- Have experience with switchgear, MV or HV circuit breakers
- Experience with SF6 gas circuit breakers and metal clad/vacuum switchgear.
- Experience testing breakers or high voltage equipment, including analyzing test results and assessing equipment condition
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical control circuits is required
- Good organizational skills are required to plan work scope, personnel and equipment logistics
- Experience with directly related equipment for at least 5 years
- Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills are required
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel & PowerPoint, and project management software a plus.
- Ensures safety of self and supporting crew by complying with OSHA safety practices
- Highly motivated and a team player; promotes an inclusive work environment and respects all aspects of diversity
- Be available to respond to emergencies and relief assignments
