- You play a key role in our mission to treat cancer patients.
- As BDS Physics Service Engineer , you are responsible for beam calibration, commissioning and troubleshooting activities on the Proton Therapy site.
- As BDS Physics Service Engineer you are responsible for:
- During the Installation phase (+/- 11 months)
- Assisting in the installation of a wide variety of IBA equipment and technical tools on the Proton Therapy site with a specific focus on beam-related equipment
- Calibration of beam-related equipment according to procedure
- Using the system (understanding the software/hardware architecture of the system and the PT center components) to obtain a beam that meets the requirements
- Aligning and setting up Dosimetry tools
- Analyzing a large amount of data to diagnose technical issues
- Validating and testing the equipment according to the specifications and ensuring it meets the customer's requirements in terms of compliance, quality, technical performance and timeliness
- Manage beam-related commissioning activities such as pencil beam scanning (PBS) and beam testing.
- Equipment troubleshooting
- Assuring the highest quality of state-of-the-art technologies and services
- Troubleshooting and maintaining the equipment
- Providing technical support to the medical staff during QA, patient treatment and clinical operations
- Meeting the client's requirements in terms of technical performance, timing, and safety
- Customer training
- Preventive and corrective maintenance of hardware and software equipment (shift work)
- Collaboration with the R&D department to upgrade and improve the system
- A Master degree or PhD in Physics or engineering
- Experience in High Energy Physics, Particle Accelerators, or Medical Physics is a plus
- MS Excel, MATLAB, and Monte-Carlo simulations are a plus
- Troubleshooting large systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English
- Customer-oriented
- You are able to follow rules and regulations and meet strict deadlines
- Analytical, good troubleshooting skills, able to identify root causes
- Are you willing to share your knowledge in your area of expertise
- A team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- A willingness to travel extensively during the training period (+/- 4 months)
- Flexible, willing to work rotating shifts, nights, and weekends (up to 50% of your time)
