The position of Service Engineer (Life Cycle Services) is part of the Business Area- India Operations Centre (INOPC PA), located in Bangalore. ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines will be primarily followed when executing medium to high complex jobs & projects. Satisfy customers by providing excellent service. Engage in proactive communication with both the customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities are utilized. It is based in Bangalore and requires resources to support our end customers in Qatar.
Your responsibilities:
- Performing medium to high-level service tasks such as installation, commissioning, maintenance, upgrades, and retrofits.
- Identifying technical problems and making analyses through remote or on-site work in different categories of Service.
- Assuring customer satisfaction by performing service work in accordance with customer expectations. Understanding the needs of customers and creating positive relationships with them.
- Coordination, preparation, and ensuring material, parts, and equipment are available and of the appropriate quality for service activities.
- Makes recommendations to prevent future equipment failures by troubleshooting complex equipment failures.
- Ensure all documentation and reports are ready for the customer's signature.
- Taking steps to eliminate unsafe practices and incidents and ensuring that HSE practices are of a high standard.
Your background:
- Engineering graduate in electrical/electronic engineering
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in the Control & Instrumentation field with at least 5 years of ABB relevant experience as Customer Support / Project / Service engineer in power management-based systems.
- A valid Qatar residence permit is required
- Knowledge of / experience with industry communication protocols such as Modbus RTU, OPC and IEC61131, etc.
- Knowledge of ABB legacy systems and substation automation systems.
- Experience with ABB Substation control system (SCS) microSCADA / power management system (PMS).
- Experience in industrial networking, network switch configuration.
