About the role

As Safety Supervisor, you monitor the work activities and safe practices at QDFC work premises, including landside and airside facilities. As a safety officer, you will ensure safety standards are implemented and conduct frequent audits and inspections to identify hazards and relay them to relevant departments for correction. Your role will be to observe, document and analyze day-to-day safety practices and event trends and present data to your line manager and ensure that QDFC has a safe and healthy working environment in accordance with local legislation, QR and HIA standards, as well as basic knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 22000.

Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Conduct daily audits of QDFC premises in accordance with the set plan to determine any non-compliance or areas for improvement.
  • Report, record, and follow up on all OHS & Fire hazards.
  • Respond to emergency situations in accordance with the HIA and QR protocols.
  • Prepare daily handover reports that include all shift activities and incident data.
  • Prior to closing the case, ensure to investigate and complete relevant reports and to submit for review.
  • Provide awareness sessions to employees according to the set plan and/or as and when necessary in order to promote and enhance safety culture.
  • Support internal and external QDFC divisions, business partners, including food and beverage operations, warehouses, and company accommodations, including all safety related challenges.
  • Conduct internal and external inspections and audits and support the closing process

Qualifications:

About you

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
  • High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 0-2years of job-related experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 0-2 years of job-related experience
  • Attended trainings on first aid and fire safety applications
  • Worked in a supervisory role in a non-construction organization
  • NEBOSH IGC or similar safety qualification
Skills:
  • The ability to read, understand, and interpret regulations, laws, and operating procedures.
  • Ability to coordinate emergency situations and to respond appropriately.
  • An understanding of the principles of supervision.
  • Good computer literacy, administration and office skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to communicate courteously and tactfully with superiors, peers, and other employees.
  • Working within a team, the individual will need to work to timelines.
  • Shift work and irregular hours as per operational requirement may be required.
  • A flexible and positive attitude
