MISSION OF THE POSITION
We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and highly motivated Associate Scientist with a strong background in molecular and cell biology. She/he will perform experiments to screen novel therapeutic agents and decipher disease mechanism using molecular biology and cell biology techniques.
WORK LOCATION
The Associate Scientist, Molecular and Cellular Biology role is located is San Diego, California.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine cell culture and mammalian cell transfections and/or transductions.
- Conducting biochemical studies and cell-based tests in vitro
- Analyze, organize, and present data to the project team
- Presentation of data at scientific conferences and publication of data in scientific journals
- Maintain an accurate lab notebook and documentation
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Expertise in molecular and cell biology.
- Flexible and collaborative team player with excellent communication skills with senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Organizational skills, ability to multitask in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- BS, MS or PhD in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or related field in Biomedical Sciences.
- Five or more years of industry experience in molecular and cell biology is required for BS.
- For a MS, you must have three or more years of industry experience in molecular and cell biology.
- One or more years of industry experience in molecular and cell biology; and/or 0-3 years of relevant postdoctoral training with experience in leading research projects for PhD.
- Expertise in cell culture techniques and in vitro cell-based assays is required.
- Extensive experience in the isolation and culture of PMBCs from human blood is required.
- Experience with multicolor flow cytometry (4+ colors), MSD, qPCR, fluorescence and luminescence based assays, ELISA, Western blot.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, FlowJo, and Graph Pad Prism
- Experience will determine the level.
