- Maintain the Smiths Code of Corporate Responsibility and Business Ethics in all activities. Meet daily service repair needs and drive customer satisfaction.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains equipment on the field; provides customer training as needed. Documents inspections, maintenance, and repair work and submits paperwork in a timely manner
- Manages repair parts cycle times and orders, installs, and returns parts
- Review all logs for open issues and prepare formal reports for customers as necessary.
- Promoting and implementing revenue programs and participating in Service sales opportunities.
- Maintains and calibrates tools and test equipment
- Analyzes product/equipment performance based on field data; recommends modifications or improvements.
- Provides technical support to customers and other service professionals as needed.
- Participate in site surveys, pilot program service activities, attend meetings, champion special projects, and prepare exclusive reports.
- Possess solid technical knowledge of the company's products.
- Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, in business
- Builds and maintains a close relationship with senior level FSE's and Product Specialists in order to support customer needs and remain current on technical trends.
- Controls and minimises costs by using every available measure.
- It may be necessary to travel, work overtime, and work other hours than Sunday-Thursday.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 shift schedule for maintenance coverage at work sites.
- Assist the training department with technical training.
- Health, safety, and environmental policies of the company.
- Other duties as needed.
- Education/Training: Associate Degree or equivalent technical training.
- Electrical/Electronic Engineering related Degree. Computer literacy is a must.
- Hydraulics, air-conditioning systems, and networking experience.
- A minimum of five years' experience directly involved in the troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems and equipment is required.
- Field Service Engineers should have a minimum of three years' field experience with Smiths Detection's CXS, WTMD, EDS, and Matrix Server products and may support more than three product lines.
- Candidates should have experience with installation, integration, testing, and commissioning.
- The candidate should have minimum experience as a Level-2 FSE. Persons should have good communication skills as well as a strong commitment to customer service and teamwork. Customer service issues must be addressed promptly.
- Obtain an airport driving permit within six months of joining and possess a valid UAE driving Licence.
- While supervision is not considered a primary responsibility of this position, on occasion it may be necessary to supervise others on a project basis. Languages: English, Arabic if possible
- Ability to multitask several projects at once with excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Good customer service skills and the ability to handle stressful situations.
- An individual who is self-motivated, reliable, and accountable
- Outstanding telephone skills
- Autonomous work environment: Work environment is typically considered to be off-site, wherever the client of concern is located. Service is typically provided at ports and borders located throughout the Middle East.
