Job Description:

We still have 20 years of untapped data across the biopharma value chain. In pharmaceuticals, especially, the digital revolution is changing everything, and Novartis is taking steps to drive a company-wide digital transformation. We are setting up a team at Novartis Hyderabad that will collaborate with the Chief Digital Office, various Novartis business units, and industry leading technology partners to execute Novartis' data strategy , transforming its rich data resources into strategic assets that drive actionable insights across the organization. In Novartis' broader digital transformation to become a 'medicines and data science company,' this ambition is one of the cornerstones.

Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• A preliminary understanding of commercial operations, Sales & Marketing. Experience in the Pharma / Life Science industry is preferred.
• Create and implement world-class data products and solutions in collaboration with business partners, data scientists, and IT teams
• Assists in business and data analysis; carries out data quality management and data stewardship activities; and supports IT in the implementation of DWH, MDM, and FAIRification.
• Demonstrates an understanding of enterprise approved schema, tools, and platforms for delivering high quality, clean, and linked data across projects
• Possess good understanding of ETL, RDBMS, SQL, and problem-solving skills
• Manage the quality and consistency of NBS CONEXTS data services
• Assist in the delivery of services in an AGILE manner with appropriate documentation and communication

Minimum requirements:

What You’ll bring to the role:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science / IT or a related quantitative field (minimum/desirable). 2-4 years' experience as a data analyst, business analyst, data engineer, modeler, ETL developer, or data steward in a global company
• Knowledge of data management concepts such as DWH, RDBMS, ETL, BI architecture, Data operations and stewardship, MDM and data quality controls
• Excellent hands-on experience in Data Modeling, SQL or any other scripting language such as Python, Shell scripts, PySpark for data preparation and analysis
• Ability to handle large volumes of data and skilled in data preparation, data profiling, data analysis and data validation is a must
• An understanding of current vs. desired data architecture and experience with data migration would be highly preferred
• Hands-on experience with MS Office (especially MS Excel) is required. Good communication and presentation skills. Good to have consulting and stakeholder engagement experience.
• Foundational understanding of the big data ecosystem and cloud technologies would be an advantage. Good to have basic business understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and data standards. Domain experience in at least one of the following areas – a) Pharma R&D, b) Manufacturing, Procurement and Supply Chain and c) Marketing and Sales is preferred.
