Role and Responsibilities
- Lead the development and subsequent ownership of the processes and procedures required to ensure safe and error-free execution of electrical projects. Mentor junior-level project managers in the Project Management process and best practices.
- To conceptualize, design, propose, and implement site improvement projects in conjunction with Department Equipment EngiThe work is performed with the concept of Extreme Ownership, and the Project Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the project, including code compliance, safe work practices, inter-departmental coordination and communication, project status reporting, schedule creation, and on-time execution.
- Interact with engineers from other departments to complete multidisciplinary projects. Ensure proper coordination of procurement and construction activities, including basic knowledge of other trades.
- Prepare detailed step plans incorporating risk analysis for all work performed.
- Managing the day-to-day activities of the site consultant design team, general contractor and subcontractor during new and retrofit construction.
- Engaging in and resolving construction issues, particularly those arising from Constructability Reviews, Site Observation Reports, and Punch Lists.
- Establishing, managing, and mitigating project risk points for safety and code compliance.
- Performing regular site field observations to ensure previously constructed electrical equipment and process tool installations meet safety and code standards.
- To meet the aggressive timelines and goals during all aspects of project and sustaining work, the candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills required to interface with stakeholders across SAS Facilities, Manufacturing, and Engineering organizations. Working with a team and providing technical guidance to other Construction Engineering team members is essential, particularly interacting with Electrical Engineers who are responsible for primary electrical infrastructure installation.
- Hours & Days: M-F, 1st Shift.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering at an ABET-accredited institution.
- Electrical design and project experience in an industrial setting is required. Experience with semiconductor fabs is preferred.
- Certification as a Project Management Professional is a plus.
- Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas (or ability to transfer from another state) is a plus.
- LEED BD + C certification will be a plus.
- Knowledge of industrial power distribution systems design and operation, electrical equipment and infrastructure, building and electrical code requirements (IBC, IFC, NEC), and electrical safety practices.
- Skills in creative problem solving, leadership potential and the desire to contribute to cutting-edge planning and optimization projects with aggressive goals and timelines.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel for data analysis, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and simple script creation.
- Expertise in electrical modeling programs such as ETAP, SKM, and others.
- Read and understand design plans, shop drawings, and review work in progress.
- In order to effectively communicate technical content to various organizations, excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Ability to work overtime / on non-scheduled days as needed.
