- Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and minimum 1 to 5 years of experience to be considered for a level 7. Those with 8 or more years of experience may be considered for level 6 positions
- General maintenance experience with large gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and associated equipment.
- Lead safety programs, perform maintenance on large turbine generators, or work in an industrial environment with risks and hazards requiring practices and procedures intended to keep personnel safe and maintain a safe workplace. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and pre-job safety briefs or risk assessments are examples of this.
- Experience working with union labor and complex schedules, including knowledge of Primavera and/or Microsoft Project.
- If you are located within a reasonable distance of a major airport, we may consider additional postings if you report to Siemens-Energy Service in Orlando, FL.
- The position is for a Seasonal Engineer. Select from one of the 1664, 1560, or 1248 tier seasonal hour programs. An average of 200-250 days per year will be spent away from home with about 70% of your time spent traveling. Assignments typically last between two and ten weeks. Typically, working hours are 10-12 hours per day, 6-7 days per week, day or night shifts.
- Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States without requiring work authorization at present or in the future. The company may be able to transfer employees with current visa sponsorship.
- Travel to Siemens-Energy customer power plants throughout the US and abroad to perform maintenance, repair, and modification of large steam and gas turbine generators and related equipment.
- Management of mechanical maintenance crews ranging in size from 1 to 30 members engaged in disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and reassembling large steam/gas turbine generators.
- Conducting complex site surveys to develop maintenance plans and leading job site safety programs.
- Report work activities in detail and submit them.
- Planning and estimating of resources and durations required for specific scopes of work for customer proposals may be required.
- Examine complex task plans, drawings, and installation schematics and provide mentorship throughout the duration of the project.
- Manage and direct subcontractors to perform specific maintenance tasks and serves as the Siemens-Energy jobsite contact.
