TYCOM/Fleet activities and units, along with maintenance organizations, are supported by the NAVSEA Representative Waterfront Engineer. Engineers at the waterfront serve as Subject Matter Experts concerning the relationships between various conditions associated with ship life cycles and how they affect specific ships' expected service life. Furthermore, the Engineer will analyze and support life cycle maintenance strategies for NAVSEA platforms, and will carry out maintenance requirements analysis on multiple platforms. Manama, Bahrain is the location for this opening, which will be located at the Bahrain Navy Base.
Responsibilities:
A highly qualified candidate will:
- Communicate with the Type Commander and representatives of the Regional Maintenance Center to obtain information for class and ship maintenance schedules.
- Organize maintenance work in conjunction with government and private services.
- For support of ship maintenance activities and regional maintenance, access and collect unfiltered data. Create data tables and charts with EXCEL and ACCESS, among other database programs.
- Assist teams with assessment and inspection by managing databases.
- Using data tables, pivot tables, pivot charts and standard charts, compile and overlay data from multiple databases and historical sources to produce a cohesive picture.
Required Skills:
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills.
- Excel proficiency is essential. Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- AIS applications and Navy databases can be updated.
- Explicitly communicate information to military leaders and to large audiences in a timely manner.
Required Experience:
High school diploma or GED and ten (10) or more years of relevant experience OR, a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and five (5) years or more of relevant experience OR a master's in a relevant field.
The applicant must have at least a SECRET level clearance (active).
Desired:
- Related military or civilian experience
- 3-M Coordinator/Supervisor
- Experience working on Navy database projects such as 3M, OARS, and NMD.
- Experience as a Naval Supervising Authority Project Manager or a U.S. Navy Port Engineer.
