We repair and troubleshoot transformers, maintain and overhaul tap changers. It will be beneficial to incorporate transformer monitoring and control systems, as well as digitalization. A power transformer is tested and commissioned, including a pressure test and a mechanical test. Transformers for oil handling, oil treatment, filtration, and oil passivation.

Your responsibilities:

• Mainly working as Field Service Engineer to provide the installation testing and commissioning activities at customer site or HITACHI ABB projects related to the transformers, OLTC and transformer related equipment, including third party transformers if applicable and authorized by HITACHI ABB management.
• Active participation in site activities and visiting the customer site for installation testing and commissioning of HITACHI ABB transformers or transformer related activities. Work on other equipment related to the transformer as and when required or assigned by the line manager. Participating in the PGTR project and working with the project team as and when assigned.
• Coordinate/interface with tools management department and take care of tools, arrange and properly use ABB Transformer or other products test equipment and tools to execute site activities for installation, testing and commissioning, protection and control.
• Complete transformer compartment assembly work, trouble shooting and rectification of transformer defects and allied product defects, workable at customer site and advise the action plan if the repair work needs to be carried out in HITACHI ABB factory or workshop. Supports the work activities of PGTR Service at site, or at customer work place.
• Learn and perform the test equipment operation used for Transformers, OLTC and other testing and maintenance work at site, customer premises or HITACHI ABB work place.
• Work with the Project Management team on various projects as and when required in full compliance with PM requirements and maintain discipline as advised by the PM or customer site regulations.
• Lead the contractor or sub-contractor during job execution and coordinate with the customer and back office support for any resource requirements to complete the job. Get the PAC or time sheets signed by the customer after completion of the assigned task that can be used to invoice the customer.
• Prepare and provide site reports, activity plans and resource requirements and share it with the PM, line manager or supervisor, prepare methods of statement as and when required that can be shared with the customer in case asked by the customer or it is contractually binding.
• Follow the HITACHI ABB company rules and regulations, display good behavior at office and on site, any safety or integrity incident should be reported to line manager, supervisor or project manager. Implement HITACHI ABB values in day to day activities or tasks.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly time sheets, expanse report as per company guideline in a timely manner, prepare travel authorization prior to starting the travelling for site or deployment.
• Employee shall also carry out any tasks that are assigned by management necessary to fulfil the Project/ job requirements, any site activities or other job requirements in PGTR Service Business.

Your background:

• Engineering degree in Electrical / Mechanical along with minimum experience of 2 to 4 years in transformer installation testing and commissioning, OLTC repair and maintenance, Transformer protection and control, monitoring and measuring devices, maintenance work on transformer. Computer literate and excellent interpersonal written/oral communication skills.
• Fluent in English and Arabic language both spoken and written.
