Description:
Under the close supervision of TRIMEDX management, the TRIMEDX Intern in Biomedical Engineering gains on-the-job training by shadowing experienced clinical engineers, biomedical engineers, lab engineers, and radiology engineers. You will learn about a typical day in the life of an engineer, how to respond to service calls, balance workload, documentation of repairs and preventive maintenance, vendor management, how to calibrate equipment, troubleshoot different types of equipment, electrical safety, and how to repair equipment. You will be performing preventative maintenance procedures, inventory validation, and working alongside experienced technicians in a real-time service environment.
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
- Have an associate's degree or similar military training in biomedicine or be enrolled in an undergraduate program.
- Clinical engineering experience is preferred with biomedical equipment
- Customer service and interpersonal skills of the highest caliber
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and verbally
- As part of the installation, servicing, and maintenance of medical equipment, it is frequently necessary to reach, pull, and/or apply fine motor skills
- Servicing and/or inspecting medical equipment often requires bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing, balancing, or otherwise maneuvering the body
- Servicing medical equipment often requires the operation of hand- or foot-operated tools/machinery (drills, saws, electronic test equipment, etc.).
- As part of working with medical equipment, you may be required to lift, carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds
- A limited background check and a substance use screening are part of the pre-employment screening process.
