- Make sure GCP compliance and image quality are maintained at clinical sites, as well as during the image analysis and handling process.
- Attend clinical study sites for the purpose of assisting the initiation and training of the participants. If necessary, the site training may be conducted remotely (i.e. via telephone, web conference, telepresence, etc.) with equivalent effectiveness.
- Review images and provide written/verbal feedback to clinical sites in order to ensure image quality and protocol compliance during clinical trials.
- Implementing practical experience in the delivery of key documentation and data to projects.
- Cooperation with the image data specialist(s) for the maintenance, training and support of computerized image systems. (System-specific training is provided.)
- Establishing effective working relationships with customers to meet the needs of the clinical study. Staff at participating clinical centers may also be included.
- Delivering critical documentation or data using practical and clinical experience.
- Continual Professional Development program to ensure competence in role-related modes (e.g., on-site training or counseling). Coaching and mentoring by more experienced scientists can help them build up their experience.
- Management of image data in support of clinical studies for internal and external customers in accordance with Good Clinical Practices and company guidelines.
- BSc or MSc in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in either PET, PET/CT, Nuclear Medicine, or Diagnostic Radiology with knowledge of nuclear medicine.
- An extensive knowledge of scanner qualification (phantom imaging and analysis) and image quality control.
- Expertise in the scientific and clinical research of diagnostic imaging agents.
- This position requires a high degree of initiative and autonomy. Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) experience.
- Identify, troubleshoot, document and follow through on technical problems to completion.
- Must be willing to work in our Marlborough office.
- Qualifications and certifications relevant to the field (e.g., state registration as a clinical scientist, board certification, membership in a professional organization, licensure as a technician or radiographer).
- Physics or another relevant discipline as above with a postgraduate degree.
- Workstation competency in medical imaging.
- Work experience in dosimetry.
- Work experience with MRI, CT scans, and other image modalities. X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds are diagnostic tests.
- Knowledge of imaging core labs.
- Experience writing clinical study manuals (e.g. imaging manuals or image acquisition protocols). Ability to create and edit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Direct experience with clinical trial sites and experience leading blinded readings.
- Ability to build strong relationships across business functions; able to involve/motivate others to work toward team goals.
