The company Peak Scientific Instruments, a fast-growing company specializing in the manufacture of laboratory gas generators for the life science and biomedical market, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support our customers and OEMs in South Korea.
We export 90% of our sales to approximately 126 countries, and have offices in the United States, China, South Africa, India, Brazil, Singapore, Mexico and Australia, with more than 600 employees. Due to our continued success and growth, we are looking for a Field Service Engineer in South Korea.
The position is currently based in Seoul or nearby.
This role is based in South Korea and requires travelling within the country, occasionally to Singapore and the United Kingdom. Additionally, this position provides sales/customer requirements support to the Head of Sales when requested. An engineer in the field will provide Peak's business channels with technical support and help deliver world-class service to customers. The ability to apply analytical reasoning and pay close attention to detail are attributes of self-motivated, disciplined individuals. As well as possessing a solid knowledge of Office programs, the candidate should demonstrate customer expectations management skills.

Responsibilities include:
  • Scheduling of jobs with external clients
  • Providing stock management to the back office
  • Maintain equipment as well as perform a wide range of maintenance tasks, emergency repairs, installations, training and general support to ensure total customer satisfaction
  • Schedule maintenance jobs accurately, as well as select P.M. kits
  • Customer service requests (emails and telephone calls) must be dealt with promptly, courteously, and professionally
  • The service report should be clear and accurate for the customer and the head office.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks of the stock of parts in the personal van and replenish it if necessary
  • Develop both sales and service businesses within the territory in conjunction with the Service Sales Specialist
  • Responsible for ensuring effective communication and collaboration between all PEAK departments (sales, marketing, logistics, engineering, production) for all aspects of customer and product support
  • Any customer complaint or escalation should be informed to the regional service manager.
  • Be proactive in enhancing and developing your knowledge of the entire product range
  • Assist PEAK Scientific's OEM, distributors, customers, and internal staff with technical advice and support
  • Follow-up promptly on requests from Regional Service Managers and/or Senior Territory Managers
The Candidate:

Experience:
  • An understanding of pressure systems and transportable gases is advantageous.
  • Electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems knowledge
  • You must have some familiarity with Microsoft Office products. Additional training will be provided in other systems
  • Delivery of field services

Skills and qualifications:

  • Education in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electronics / Electrical / Biomedical Engineering
  • Teamwork – able to build relationships
  • High levels of attention to detail.
  • Follow-up in a timely manner
  • Self-motivation and the ability to prioritize and plan effectively
  • Maintaining effectiveness in the face of pressure
  • Ability to work with little supervision, self-motivation and self-discipline.
  • Methodical problem-solving skills and practical skills
  • Consider technical issues with good sense
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of health and safety in general and in the country
  • Technical English and Korean language skills
  • Have a valid driver's license for the country in which you reside
  • Willingness to travel extensively and on short notice
