- Support Accuray systems through installation, repair, and maintenance.
- Depending on the machine status or the customer's requirements, support is provided remotely as well as via the internet and on-site.
- By responding to customer calls promptly, clearly and effectively, maintaining a professional appearance, and providing efficient repair and maintenance services, we strive for the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- To ensure that the urgent requirements of our customers are met as quickly as possible and that customer satisfaction is maximized by self-management of schedule and priorities.
- In the Device History File, Accuray Customer Management software should be used to record work activities in a clear and accurate manner.
- Maintenance of parts inventory and timely return of parts that need to be returned to the Accuray stock.
- Responsible for the accuracy and timely completion of field service timesheets and expense reports.
- Support Accuray Customer Service by developing service documentation.
- Provide customer-site personnel with the necessary training regarding maintenance and service activities.
- Assist in identification and development of Field Support tools and test equipment.
- As necessary, follow the company's training. (e.g., six weeks of training at Accuray Headquarters in the US).
- Acquire a comprehensive understanding of Accuray's internal policies and processes.
- Conducts TUV audits at the customers and follows local regulations (for example, radioprotection rules).
- Provide safe operations, vehicle cleanliness and preventative maintenance for the company vehicle (if provided) in accordance with the Accuray fleet vehicle policy
- Assist in providing feedback about service-related product improvements. This could include improving Mean Time to Access (MTTA), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), or Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
- Assist with the development, documentation, and testing of new service tools and product design updates.
- Works well with other engineers, scientists, and subcontractors.
- Attend team meetings, provide documentation as needed, and represent Field Service requirements.
- Follow the Accuray Safety Program requirements and work practices.
- Incorporate safety and quality considerations into the product design in a pro-active and consistent manner.
- As soon as possible, communicate with Accuray corporate, or wherever possible, directly address customer quality concerns.
- Follows procedures and mentors others to comply with Accuray's Quality System and Safety and Health Program.
- Assumes responsibility for maintaining a safe work environment.
- The employee is required to lift and/or move inventory, equipment, office supplies, or stored records up to 35 kilos on a regular basis.
- Physical inventory weighing up to 680 kilos must occasionally be moved or transported using lifting devices such as jib cranes, boom cranes, lifting fixtures, hand dollies, and equipment dollies.
- A ladder may occasionally be climbed, knees bent, or the employee crouching as necessary during servicing of equipment.
- Besides the above-mentioned responsibilities, the incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities as needed by the business.
- Engineer or physicist with a bachelor's degree. We may also consider other qualifications with significant related work experience. An engineering technology degree (e.g., BS in electronics, Electro-Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering Technology, AS in electronics). It is desirable to have a basic knowledge of medical physics.
- At least three years of experience supporting electrical/electronic products in the field or in engineering. An understanding of medical devices would be an asset.
- Working knowledge of electronic test equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems effectively.
- The candidate should have excellent H/W and S/W computer skills, including network knowledge and familiarity with standard office software applications from spreadsheets to word processors. A quick learning curve for new software tools.
- An understanding of the basic administration of Windows-based computers would be an asset.
- Speaking and writing in French and English are fluent.
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills, as well as a strong customer service orientation.
- Team player - the ability to work effectively in a tight-knit team environment.
- Travel is required (50%) as well as occasional short notice and after-hours support. You may be asked to travel internationally in rare cases and may have to spend several weeks away from your home base.
- Applicants must possess a valid driving license and have an excellent driving record (excluding India).
- To qualify for this position, candidates must be able to furnish proof that they are authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without sponsorship.
