As a Field Service Engineer at Leica Biosystems, you will be responsible for providing service and maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and commissioning of the laboratory instruments in the Leica Biosystems portfolio. This includes network configuration and implementing Digital Pathology equipment. Providing prompt and proactive support to customers and colleagues will maximize customer satisfaction. Professionals, friendly, motivated, independent, technically savvy, and motivated are the only types of Engineers we're interested in. As a customer service agent, you will support clients in Leeds and Harrogate, with the possibility of traveling to other regions where necessary.

Career Progression

The Field Service Engineer Digital Pathology will be able to develop technically either broadly as a generalist or product-specifically as a specialist. Alternatively, you might be able to develop into another part of the Service or Sales team, representing other products groups or taking on management responsibility within Danaher or Leica Biosystems.

In this role, you’ll
  • To perform preventative maintenance, repairs, fault analysis, and upgrades to ensure optimum customer care and a timely, effective, and efficient repair in accordance with established KPI's.
  • Installation of Digital Pathology equipment on site, including network configuration.
  • Report accurately, manage spare part inventory, handle expenses, and submit reports on time.
  • Provide professional After Sales Support to all customers within the parameters set by Service Management by working closely with the Field Support Team.
  • Assist the sales team with tasks such as basic training for customers, installations, demonstrations, and system builds.
  • We exchange valuable information resulting from customer interactions in order to improve customer satisfaction and sales/service administration and communication.
  • Establish close working relationships with the Technical Assistance Centre in order to ensure smooth and quick processes and information flow.
  • Support end users and build a positive reputation for the products by maximizing customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in the improvement of overall reliability with product service specialists and provide feedback to the business unit and other LBS Field Service employees.
  • Contribute to team goals of Customer Satisfaction, Return Call Rate, Preventative Maintenance Planning, and Utilization.
What you’ll need to do the job
  • Field or related service experience preferred.
  • A basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or electronic technology.
  • Experience configuring and configuring network components such as firewalls and TCP/IP networks in a Windows environment.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and Windows Server.
  • Experience with Digital Pathology Integration solutions and software installation is advantageous, but not essential, as training can be provided.
  • A demonstrated ability to learn in technical areas with limited experience.
  • IT support throughout the product lifecycle showed to be effective
  • Carrying and moving 25kg safely is possible.
  • Ability to communicate with different levels internally and on customer sites. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Positivity, enthusiasm, and a proactive attitude, capable of working both independently and with others.
