- As a Field Service Engineer, you will provide customer support for Illumina's products. Customer support team will provide award-winning customer service to the successful applicant.
- A Field Service Engineer is responsible for performing scheduled maintenance, installing, troubleshooting, and completing repairs found during the process.
- A resident of the greater Houston, TX area is preferred.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, related degree; Or applicable military experience; or equivalent.
- Typically requires 0-2 years of related experiences.
- Instrument systems are installed, upgraded, repaired, and maintained within defined boundaries.
- Resolve system problems and troubleshoot.
- Submit service reports, expense reports, and "Bug" reports on time.
- Timely entry into the service database of work performed.
- Ensure that the service spares inventory is accurate.
- The SOPs need to be revised/reviewed.
- Alignment of optical systems has been demonstrated.
- Approximately 70% of travel is required.
- A strong problem-solving ability and high motivation are required.
- Communication skills, both verbal and written, are excellent.
- Ability to write technical documents.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- You must have experience with computers and be literate. An understanding of Visio would be advantageous.
- It may be necessary to offer customer support during non-regular business hours in this role.
