Roles & Responsibilities:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer with a strong background in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our Data Engineering team. You will report to our Data Engineering Lead and be responsible for:

• Designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure on GCP for high performance and availability, scalable data systems.
• Developing and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines.
• Creating API integrations to support increasing data volume and complexity.
• Collaborating with the data and analytics team to enhance data systems' functionality.
• Addressing data-related technical issues and supporting data infrastructure needs for cross-functional teams, including Software, Product, Operations, and Finance.
• Providing technical leadership and mentoring junior data engineers.
• Ensuring high-quality documentation to support application management.

This Role Requires:

As an experienced data engineer, you'll be responsible for optimizing and building data systems from the ground up. You'll collaborate with engineers, data analysts, and data scientists on various data initiatives. Key qualifications include:

• Experience in designing and implementing complex high-throughput distributed batch and real-time solutions using tools such as Dataflow, Composer, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Run, App Engine, and Firestore.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL for data analysis and reporting.
• Demonstrated experience working with APIs and Webhooks.
• GCP certification is highly desirable.
• Experience deploying cloud infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or similar.
• Familiarity with Agile development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience, with at least 3+ years in a Data Engineer role, focusing on data processing and analysis.
• Proven ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Effective stakeholder management and the ability to handle competing deadlines.
• Proficiency in SQL, relational databases, query authoring, and familiarity with various databases.
• Experience conducting root cause analysis to answer business questions and identify improvement opportunities.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
• Experience with GCP is a plus.
