Job Description
The Software Engineer will work for the Airport Logistics business unit inside Siemens Logistics to support the design, install, test and commissioning of baggage handling systems (BHS) or parcel sortation systems for domestic airports.
Salary: 90 - 100k with $5000 Sign On Bonus
Work Location: Hybrid position based out of Irving, Texas
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the analysis and composition of requirements, design of architectural and component software features, design and implementation of system, design and implementation of test plan and documentation of final product.
- Develop/Enhance applications written in C#, Visual C++, ASP.NET core, JavaScript, Angular, SQL Server 2016 or greater.
- Reviewing code, writing documentation, setup project servers and following test procedures. Later duties may include responsibility for production software components.
Required Skills:
- Able to adapt to new languages, methodologies and platforms to meet the needs of the project.
- Knowledge of developing software using Visual Studio 2005, 2008 or greater environment.
- Object oriented programming, with base SW languages C++ or C#; desired tool experience with Visual Studio.
- Familiarity or working knowledge of any .NET technologies: ASP.NET core, C# and/or Angular.
- Knowledge of using relational database management system SQL Server 2016 or greater.
- SQL Server reporting services.
- Knowledge of developing SCADA applications (preferred/willing to learn).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline or 1-3 years of experience.
- Required to work odd hours to avoid affecting the airport baggage operation when working at the job site.
- Able to negotiate tight spaces, ladders, stairwells, catwalks and occasionally lift 40 lbs.
- Strong written and oral English communication skills.
- Travel approximately 30% of the time.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
- Must be able to commute to the Irving, Texas office for required in-office work.
