- Participate in a broad cross-functional review of work output. Work from Systems requirement specifications develops, maintains, and updates Software detailed design and interface specifications.
- Participate in Software Design Reviews of software architecture, design, code, test scripts, and test procedures.
- Participate in Debugging and troubleshooting of software problems as well as offers strategic solutions, analysis, and advice regarding identified issues for future development;
- Evaluate prototypes formally and informally through structured and ad hoc testing. Test aspects of new projects or algorithms to evaluate prototypes and validate output to meet intended use requirements.
- Contribute to and support writing, updating, developing, and maintaining Hazard/Risk analysis specifications;
- Contribute to and supports root-cause analysis of failures.
- Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
- Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelors Degree in Software engineering, computer science, or a related engineering field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- MINIMUM OF 8-10 YEARS progressively more responsible work experience in a range of software engineering disciplines using a variety of programming methods.
- Experience with Object Oriented Programming like Java or C#, visual modeling, graphical user interfaces, multi-threading, networking, formal software development methodologies, and source code management.
- Experience with unit- and integration-level testing and automated testing.
- Working knowledge on Linux operating system is recommended.
- Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
- Lead designs of major software components, systems, and features. Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve the software.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Mentor and train other team members on design techniques, and coding standards.
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment. Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects. Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization. Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner. Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
