About Us
The Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC is adjacent to the new Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, an iconic landmark for Muscat and the Sultanate of Oman and will be an integral part of a larger mixed use development including a grade-A business park and shopping Centre making it an ideal travel destination for both business and leisure traveler. Conveniently located 10 minutes from the new Muscat International Airport and Al Mouj Golf Course this new-build property will benefit from the purpose-built precinct that has a state-of-the-art exhibition Centre with 22,000m² of exhibition space. Overlooking the Wadi, this waterway and natural reserve is home to about 260 variety of Oman’s exotic birdlife and extensive parklands. The Crowne Plaza Muscat OCEC will boast extensive meeting and event facilities with a separate function Centre that will include a spacious ballroom with terrace, a boardroom and three large meeting rooms with our Crowne Meetings Director to tailor our facilities to suit your event’s needs. The hotel’s master chefs will craft full banquet menus, customized cocktail receptions or refreshing working lunches for your events. The hotel will also benefit from five food and beverage outlets, with majority offering outdoor seating overlooking the invigorating wetland.
Your day to day- Lead the engineering team in the day-to-day engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel.
- Develop, implement and modify programs for preventative maintenance of the property, facilities and equipment.
- Establish maintenance schedules and prioritize repairs and maintenance to minimize service and operational disruption.
- Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals for colleagues - recognize good performance. Ensure that guests and colleagues receive prompt, professional treatment and courteous service in response to their maintenance needs.
- Establish department equipment and inventory levels to be maintained and work with General Manager on ordering procedures.
- Maintain, monitor and test the hotel’s emergency and security systems, features and procedures.
- Perform daily inspections to ensure property, rooms, facilities and work areas are maintained according to standards.
- Ensure proper records are kept relating to all plant and equipment for the hotel including repair and service records.
- Prepare management reports; daily, weekly, monthly and annual report in accordance with Hotel’s policy & procedures. Discuss with GM / Owner / Department heads on maintenance status and inspection reports.
- Responsible for quality service, meeting/exceeding financial goals, short- and long-term planning and day-to-day operations.
- Maintain and order parts and supplies whilst minimizing waste and maintaining “green” initiatives.
What we need from you- University / College degree holder in a mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines a plus.
- Minimum of combined 5 years’ experience in a related field of expertise and 4–5-star Hotel experience in the engineering discipline.
- Proven ability to handle multiple complex projects with a focus on results.
- Able to handle stressful situations, work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize well.
- Must have very good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
- Display a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- An eye for detail and a focus on quality standards.
