Job Description \ Overview
**This post is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP**
The Computer Service Technician applies understanding, knowledge, and guidance of information systems hardware and software to provide problem resolution, problem diagnosis and solutions in a service center environment; clearly convey technical solutions in a user-friendly professional way. They are responsible for recognizing, researching, isolating and resolving first level information systems problems for proper servicing, repairs, training and follow-up. Also performs technical inspections for all work done in the Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) Bench. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
This employment description is subject to change at any time as needed to suit the requirements of the programme or enterprise.
- Provide technical maintenance and service for all ADPE equipment.
- Evaluate equipment for defects and inadequacies.
- Performs baseline procedures, and hardware replacement.
- Work closely with the Systems Support Specialist, Lead (SSSL) to determine serviceability of workstations, monitors, printers, servers, and other computer peripherals.
- Is responsible for all final technical inspections and ensures the proper status entry is made in the work order management system.
- Performs monthly UBL inventories and assist with cyclical property inventories.
- Performs other duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education/Certifications: Three years similar experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is necessary.
- College degree or similar experience.
- CompTIA A+ or similar Certification
- Must be a US National
- Must have an Active Secret Clearance and be able to maintain
- Must have a Valid Home Country Drivers License
- Must be able to get and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) (CAC)
Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination:
To be qualified for this employment you must comply with USCENTCOM MOD 16 that demands proof that you are completely vaccinated for COVID-19, as determined by the CDC or host nation criteria.
- As of now, to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 you must have had either two doses of Pfizer BioNTech Vaccine, two doses of AstraZeneca/Oxford Vaccine, two doses of Moderna Vaccine, or one dose of Johnson & Johnson Vaccine, and two weeks must have elapsed after the final dosage was provided. This definition may change in accordance with CDC guidelines. Compliance with this government requirement is an essential function of the position and is a condition of employment.
Experience:
- 3+ years of similar experience.
Skills:
- Capable of successfully communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal.
- Possess Advanced PC technical support skills
- Time management and organizing skills
- Must be proficient utilizing the newest version of Microsoft Office
- Experience utilizing Maximo work order system or comparable system
Pursuant to KRH contracts English competency levels:
- Reading ability – level 3
- Speaking ability – level 3
- Writing skill – level 3
Material & Equipment Directly Used:
- Personal computer, printers, network equipment and electronic test equipment and other typical office equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Light work.
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force infrequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a minimal amount of force consistently to move items.
- If the use of arm and/or leg controls demands exertion of forces more than that for sedentary labour and the worker sits most of the time, the job is classed for light work.
Visual Acuity:
- The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operates machines, such as lathes, drill presses, power saws, and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach; performs mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature, such as carpenter, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.
Working Conditions:
- The worker is not considerably exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in regular office or administrative employment) (such as in typical office or administrative work.)
- The worker is subject to both environmental conditions.
