Position Summary:

Primary focus of this position is to assist engineers in developing and optimizing drug coating process of medical devices. The candidate will perform hands-on testing in coating formulation optimization, coating process development, product drug releasing testing and device testing; conduct experiments to understand process inputs, outputs and correlation of important inputs and outputs; document testing results in lab notebook; assist in preparing invention disclosure, work instruction and standard operating procedures; support prototype equipment development; support other activities from R&D, Quality, Operations and Regulatory Affairs. Internship will be part-time with the potential to work additional hours during summer months.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform R&D development testing for characterization and evaluation of combination device.
  • Write technical documents (test protocols, reports, plans, methods etc.).
  • Present technical data to the core team as needed.
  • Prepare and assist in manufacturing R&D test devices for engineering evaluation, pre-clinical studies, and other feasibility studies.
  • Conduct process development activities to understand key process inputs and outputs. Establish correlation between process inputs and process outputs using statistical tools, such as DOE.
Qualifications:

Education: 
  • Currently pursuing a technical degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other related science or engineering disciples.
Experience: 
  • Minimum of 2 years of college completed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrate hands-on technical aptitude
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret results, and write technical reports.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Design Of Experiments
  • Knowledge of cGMP and GLP is a plus.
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to manipulate tools, controls and office equipment. Work may involve continuous computer use with repetitive motion to wrists, hands and fingers. The employee frequently is required to see, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to bend, lift, reach or stoop.
