With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions. Stadia is Google's cloud-based platform that lets you instantly play your favorite video games on the devices you already own. No more waiting for game downloads, updates, or installs. With Stadia, you have the freedom to decide how to play, what to play, and where to play across laptops, desktops, phones, tablets, and TVs. Through Immersive Stream for Games, we’re also making our infrastructure and tools available to developers and publishers who want to build their own interactive streaming platforms, and deliver their games directly to their customers. We aim to grow the industry across gaming and other interactive streaming applications. Gamers demand high quality, performant, gaming experiences, which requires solving complex challenges every day. This role involves delivering functionality that is used by both external users and external app developers; on servers and clients. These present unique challenges. We design, build, launch, and land the fundamentals that make it possible to include video game streaming in first- and third-party applications.
Responsibilities:
- Write product or system development code.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
Additional Information:
(Colorado only*) Minimum full-time salary range between $142,000 - $153,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. *Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado.
