- Design and improve reusable and disposable surgical instruments, as well as any physical component necessary for their delivery (packaging, labels, etc.). More specifically, participate in the search for solutions, design 3D models on CAD software.
- Produce and test prototypes, determine manufacturing processes, carry out manufacturing drawings and actively participate in the transfer from design to production in a context of subcontracted manufacturing.
- Actively participate in laboratories and meetings with collaborating surgeons to obtain feedback on the prototypes under development.
- Carry out analyzes (failure modes, dimensions, functional, resistance and others) necessary for the release of products.
- Write all the quality documentation necessary for the marketing of products (risk analysis, design requirements and others).
- Set up test protocols (design verification) using scientifically validated methods and using valid statistical methods.
- Participate in the resolution of customer complaints and non-compliant products by analyzing the problem, finding the causes, reviewing the associated risks and proposing a solution.
- Participate in the definition and continuous improvement of procedures and work instructions related to mechanical design and production within the company's quality system.
- Estimate, plan and manage projects in an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) by interacting with the different functional groups.
- Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering (or other related field - biomedical, aerospace)
- Experience with different manufacturing processes (injection molding, machining, turning, thermoforming, and others)
- Experience with documentation
- Experience with Solidworks
- Experience with GD&T
- Experience in a highly regulated environment (ISO 13485)
- Advanced English written and oral
- French written and oral (must at least understand in a meeting)
