Overall purpose of role
One of the most crucial and important goals and purposes of this role is to be able to challenge the "status quo" in order to transform the function into one that is more effective, productive, and agile. This position is anticipated to be able to drive change, which necessitates a high level of communication and influencing abilities. It also necessitates a thorough awareness of the technology landscape both within and outside of Barclays. The position requires a seasoned strategy analyst with prior proven expertise owning, leading, and executing change initiatives on tight schedules, as well as direct interaction and support with key stakeholders within Technology, including the leadership team in India.
Key Accountabilities:
Driving Performance - Define performance and contribution metrics, institutionalize best engineering practices & drive developer productivity
Capability assessment - Assess the availability, skills and readiness of resources within the organization. By identifying capability gaps upfront, evaluate priority areas for investment / scale up / scale down .
Communicating effectively -Develop and scale a compelling narrative for transformation related projects and presentations – in essence be able to “tell the story”. Complement it with stakeholder education at all levels of the organization.
Reimagining the ways of working - Incorporate agile ways of working to accelerate transformations. Promote experimentation and learning and embed it in execution and company culture.
Driving innovation - Identify opportunities for incorporating the use of new technologies and capabilities across: digital channels & marketing, artificial intelligence, machine learning and advanced data analytics.
Driving simplification – identify and exploit all opportunities to simplify the way we work and operate
Providing Senior Stakeholder support - Support senior management on in their day to day Ad-Hoc and reporting requests. Institutionalise Best practices across the organisation
Execution - Help execute projects across BUK related technology priorities
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
- Projects will require frequent interaction with top stakeholders from across the organisation. The position necessitates a clear, confident, and accurate communication style; you should be very comfortable presenting and articulating messages/presentations using data.
- Making decisions and solving problems
- This position necessitates strong evaluating judgement and analytical skills. The technical expert/lead working on a project will be the Strategy & Transformation Lead. This will necessitate giving direction depending on what the leadership requires, as well as managing timelines.

- Ascertain that all activities and responsibilities are completed in accordance with regulatory requirements, the Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework, and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the latest trends in technology: Digital Marketing, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Machine Learning, Advance Data Analytics, Cloud and ability to apply it to the business and customer needs
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access, SQL
- Excellent record of creating innovative communications content and analysis in MS Office tools, assimilating multiple ideas into coherent messages for senior audiences
- Ability to work independently and solve problems, overcome issues using own initiative whilst keeping management updated
- Strong problem solving ability and adaptability to a high paced environment
- The ideal candidate must be flexible and professional under pressure, have strong interpersonal skills, drive and focus to succeed in a challenging environment.
- The ability to grasp data, product and business concepts quickly is critical.
- The right candidate will require a proactive, yet pragmatic approach to solving data/MI issues, focusing on areas of value add/significance to the business.
- Credibility to work across all levels, including management and cross functional teams
