WHAT TO EXPECT
Reporting to Project Engineer within Material Flow, MP&L at Halewood this is an opportunity to support the plant internal and external logistics strategies and work towards achieving departmental and plant key performance indicators. The role will require interaction with a number of internal and external customers and suppliers to support current Halewood and future Model Year production.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning and co-ordinating manufacturing and material handling facility requirements for new model introduction / Engineering Changes, and allocation changes.
- Planning, procurement, installation and commissioning of production and logistics facilities.
- Manage internal projects (Ignite, kaizens, MVB) from concept stage through to implementation.
- Coordination with our LLP to drive improvements in marketplace and sequencing operations.
- Marketplace & lineside layout AutoCAD design and implementation.
- Data analysis, development and implementation of improvement plans. (Layouts, de-sequencing, packaging, internal logistics).
- Contractor management (approval of RAMS, CJR approvals, supervision and audits).
- Investigation of accidents and incidents and reporting of close-out actions.
- Coordination of logistics engineering actions for model year programmes.
- Support department with project cost submissions and reviews.
- Undertake regular reviews of departmental processes and document findings/actions.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Knowledge of key criteria to this role.
- Previous experience of Logistics methodologies & Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Logistics or Engineering orientated individuals, with team leading and effective communication skills.
- Be Computer literate and proficient in all relevant business systems, including knowledge of MS Office
- Demonstrable experience of data analysis
- Ability to write technical reports and present ideas
- Have an understanding of all current Business Objectives/Behaviours
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally
Desirable:
Possess or be studying for engineering degree
