HP is assembling a highly qualified team with diverse experience and industry leading expertise to establish a new line of business. We have a position open within our Electrical Engineering team for a newly qualified individual with authority in the field. You will resolve complex business issues using advanced subject matter knowledge, and you will often contribute to the development of new ideas and methods. Participate in cross-functional initiatives and lead functional project teams. Acts as an expert, providing direction and guidance on improving processes and establishing policies. Exercises independent judgment in determining the best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives within broadly defined policies and practices.
What an Electrical Engineer does at HP:
- Working with other electrical hardware engineers and outsourced development partners, you are responsible for all stages of electrical hardware design and development for personal computers.
- Maintain and expand relationships with outsourced development partners for electrical hardware design and development.
- Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality.
- Lead the integration of new technology into electrical hardware design projects and activities.
Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Five to ten years of experience is typical.
- Expertise in the overall architecture of electronic hardware for products and solutions.
- Designing and integrating electronic components, integrated circuitry, and algorithms into overall architecture.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills are excellent.
- Evaluation and formulation of empirical analysis, modeling, and testing methods to validate component, circuit, and hardware designs, as well as thermal/emission management.
- Capacity to communicate product architectures, design proposals, and negotiate options effectively at senior management levels.
