3D LifePrints helps surgeons plan the most complex surgeries. We design and manufacture patient-specific medical devices including anatomical models, surgical cutting guides and bespoke implants, to put those plans into place. We are currently undergoing a growth phase as we increase our UK presence, using our unique Point of Care service model. There is an opportunity for a suitably qualified biomedical engineer to join the business at this exciting stage of our development. The successful candidate can expect a challenging and rewarding role, making a positive difference to patient outcomes in some of the UK’s leading hospitals. Responsibilities:
- Using Enterprise level medical segmentation software to extrapolate patient scan data into 3D models
- Collaborate with clinicians to design custom-made medical devices using a suite of CAD software applications
- 3D Printing of medical devices to a high standard using a variety of technologies in different materials, post-processing, finishing and inspecting outputs
- Working on a variety of diverse design and manufacturing projects as and when required
- Managing the design, manufacturing and quality processes within a hub facility to maintain the continuous improvement of 3D LifePrints ISO 13485:2016 certified Quality Management System
- Maintenance and calibration of the facilities 3D printers as and when required
- Liaising with the Sales Team, including developing of new business opportunities within the hub hospital and surrounding hospitals
Experience/Qualifications/ Skills:
- The applicant should have a degree in Bio-medical Engineering or similar related discipline. Vocational qualification to a similar level will also be considered.
- Demonstrable industry experience in a biomedical engineering or other engineering / medical roles
- Experience in medical segmentation software applications is essential, with previous exposure to patient-specific device design or manufacture preferred
- A good knowledge of human anatomy and/or surgical procedures. Preference is for candidates with experience in Orthopaedics.
- Knowledge of working with a Quality Management System is preferred
- An understanding and experience with working with 3D printers
- Good project management and communication skills
Location:
- The role will be based at 3D LifePrints' Oxford office at the Nuffield Orthopaedics Centre with the employee expected to also work in London.
- This role will involve some travel around the region to visit local hospitals, as well as further institutions and events from time to time.
Salary
- Competitive salary of based on experience. Our performance-based bonus scheme offers a percentage of the candidate’s salary, paid quarterly.
