Job Description:
  • Design, build prototype to evaluates mechanical and electromechanical product design and ability to identify potential design challenges and drive technical decisions.
  • Work closely with outside vendors and manage complex projects with them
  • Document and run design verification and validation testing which will be submitted to the FDA and other regulatory bodies
  • Interact with physicians to understand current challenges and review new concepts with them
  • Produce and review design drawings and specification documents
  • Own design reviews and ensure on-time completion of Design Control deliverables
  • Design, build, and execute testing of components or sub-assemblies; document and present test plans to broader audience
  • Use statistical techniques to facilitate decision making and to draw conclusions from available data
  • Ability to conduct a formal root cause investigation to identify potential design issues and drive technical decisions
  • Prepare risk management files and identify mitigations; drive risk management activities from product conception through commercialization
  • Develop and validate test fixtures, test methods, and inspection methods
  • Work with internal departments and external vendors to understand their capabilities and limitations
  • Ability to travel including internationally.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical engineering or related field .
  • MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS’ experience in mechanical design / process development OR an equivalent combination of work experience and education.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast paced changing environment.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as an attention to detail.
PREFERRED
  • Class III medical device R&D experience
  • Cross functional team experience
  • Wide variety of manufacturing processes and DFM experience
  • Solidworks/Creo or other CAD experience
  • Analytical design, Design for Six Sigma, or similar tool set experience
