This Opportunity

LBS is seeking a full-time Power Generation Mechanic in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP V. Join our team and grow with us as we provide best in-class services that help clients solve their most complex challenges.

Your Impact
  • Reports to the Power Generation Supervisor and receives direction from him or her.
  • Provides preventive maintenance and repairs on generators ranging from 6 KW to 1000 KW.
  • As well as installing and removing generators from static locations to power generation shops, performing troubleshooting, and rebuilding engines; alternate current (AC) systems; direct current (DC) systems; the electronic control systems; and other program logic controls; electrical wiring and peripheral accessories.
  • The Power Generation mechanic will be responsible for maintaining all types of power generation equipment; to include FG Wilson, Caterpillar, Volvo, Cummins, SDMO, AKSA, MEPs and other military (green) design generators. Rebuilds and repair gas compressors (turbochargers) used for forced-induction of generator engines, head gaskets, seals, water pumps, fuel pumps, torque heads, belts and hoses.
  • Also test batteries; check fuel coolant, and oil; process and ship oil samples for analysis. Perform installation of specified new or reconditioned repair and service parts; and make required adjustments and reassembly of the complete unit.
  • Responsible to transports and properly dispose HAZ-MAT and HAZ-WASTE materials to authorized HAZMAT collection point.
  • Daily, moves materials and equipment to work locations and perform, as required.
  • Maintains service records, tools, and equipment accountability, and performs various cleaning and housekeeping tasks.
  • Wears (all) the needed personal safety equipment, as well as following all safety rules and procedures.
  • Driven by teamwork and actively participating in continuous quality improvement.
  • Safety awareness and willingness to comply with all applicable safety procedures, regulations, and work instructions.
  • Uses all equipment safely
  • Performs other duties as required
Who You Are

Required Qualifications:
  • 18+ years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Maintain a valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time
  • Communicates effectively orally and in writing
  • Possess good oral and written communication skills
  • Fluent in English – Verbal, Reading, and Writing skills
  • Possess knowledge of ability to read and understand schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout Procedures
  • Passport valid for at least six months and with at least five blank pages
  • Pre-employment screening results, including a federal background check, a motor vehicle report, and a drug test, were successful
  • Comply with the company's drug and alcohol policy
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with civilian and/or military style generators in the Middle East for at least three years
  • Previous Military experience (91D) and/or LOGCAP 3 or LOGCAP 4 experience in the Generator Department.
  • FG Willison Technician certification.
  • Cummins Technician certification.
  • Caterpillar Technician certification.
  • 40 hour HAZWOPER – OSHA certification.
