Job Description Summary
You will be responsible for troubleshooting imaging or LCS equipment, performing preventative maintenance, inspections, and/or field modifications. Also, you will learn and work with some of our most skilled and experienced Field Engineers to evaluate basic customer biomedical equipment issues, implement repairs, and assist with equipment installation. Responsibilities:
- Responds to service calls to assess, diagnose, repair, and schedule maintenance on basic biomedical equipment to support the ability to provide healthcare services effectively to patients.
- Ensures that equipment and systems are fully operational to provide timely delivery of healthcare services to patients by performing preventative maintenance, safety/environmental inspections, and field modification instruction in one or more modalities of equipment.
- Communicates with customers to ensure resolution and follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participant in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT or mechanical equipment.
- The successful applicant must submit to GEHC's standard background check, which includes a post-offer drug test. Employees must also comply with all customer access policies, including but not limited to obtaining and/or providing proof of required immunizations, and additional drug tests or background checks (including a federal background check if assigned to support a government contract).
- The candidate must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds. A person who frequently bends, stoops, twists, climbs, crouchs/squats, kneels/crawls, sits and stands for long periods of time without assistance.
- Also, candidates should be able to reach above and below shoulder level, flex and extend their necks, as well as be dexterous with their hands. As part of this job, you may be required to have color vision, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Willingness to be available ""after hours"" or work a rotating On-Call schedule, including weekends, for critical issues and coverage, as necessary.
