- A strong background in MR physics and expertise in using MR imaging techniques in a clinical setting.
- To develop and maintain an imaging strategy that aligns with the project strategy for MRI products.
- Develop an understanding of the project needs, imaging endpoints as expressed in clinical study protocols for the fast-changing MRI portfolio.
- Develop an understanding of the requirements of a drug development pipeline (Phase 1-4) and scientific methodology.
- Working across multiple functions with diverse teams is a proven track record.
- Ability to develop imaging manuals, training materials, and quality manuals for clinical research studies using different MRI scanner vendors.
- To fulfill the clinical study's needs, develop and maintain effective working relationships with the project stream leaders, project director, clinical study team leader, and relevant staff at participating clinical study centers.
- Globally represent imaging expertise in Pharmaceutical Diagnostics - R&D.
- Establish imaging requirements for clinical sites and ensure that they are recorded properly.
- Plan and estimate imaging resources for research initiatives, clinical trials, and supply budgets.
- Develop junior team members with a focus on clinical trials and medical imaging techniques.
- Attend international and domestic clinical study sites to assist with or perform initiation and training. Training may be provided remotely (e.g. via web conference).
- Develop competence in the modality associated with the position (e.g., through a program of Continuous Professional Development).
- Management of clinical study image data for internal and external customers in accordance with Good Clinical Practice, company procedures, and guidelines.
- Develop cross-business strategies between Pharmaceutical Diagnostics and Healthcare Systems.
- A PhD in a relevant science field like Medical Physics, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, etc.
- Background in MRI, including contrast agents and other imaging modalities (desirable, but not mandatory).
- Expertise in the scientific and clinical research of diagnostic imaging agents.
- An understanding of clinical practice and experience analyzing medical images.
- Expertise in scanner qualification and protocol setup across a variety of scanner vendors.
- Medical imaging workstations are used.
- Ability to work systematically and independently. Technical problem solving experience.
- Communication, interpersonal skills, and teamwork are excellent.
- Excellent command of English, both orally and in writing.
- Qualifications and certifications (e.g., state registration as a clinical scientist, board certification, membership in an appropriate professional body, etc.).
- Work experience in industry.
- Knowledge of programming languages (MatLab, C++, Python, IDL, etc.).
- Experience with the commercialization of scientific ideas and/or previous industrial experience, as well as communication with clinical/ healthcare experts.
- Working in a collaborative, matrixed, and customer-focused environment; experience with cross-site research collaborations.
- Experience working in an imaging core lab, clinical trials, or similar environments.
- Multitasking ability.
- Perseverance and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
