- This is primarily a customer support role - in The Cloud.
- Support Engineers are primarily responsible for solving customer's issues through a variety of customer contact channels, such as telephone, email, and web/live chat. In this role, you will use advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide customized solutions for our customers, and work with them to determine the root cause of an issue.
- Apart from handling a broad spectrum of technical issues, an AWS Support Engineer may also coach/mentor new hires, develop training, work with development teams on complex issues or contact deflection initiatives, participate in new hiring, write tools/scripts to assist the team, or work with leadership on process improvement and strategic initiatives.

- Good understanding and troubleshooting of non-relational, NoSQL databases and other data analytics applications
- A good understanding of Linux and networking concepts is required
- Programming and scripting skills of an intermediate level. Ideally in Java or Python, but will consider experience in other Object Oriented and Functional languages as well.
- Multitasking skills with excellent oral and written communication skills. Should be a self-starter who is enthusiastic about learning new technology.
- Having the flexibility to work non-standard hours (no night shifts) including weekends (Sun-Mon or Fri-Sat)
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
- Expertise in technologies such as Amazon DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, and Hadoop (HBASE). Advanced SQL and query performance tuning skills.
- Design and optimization of OLTP and OLAP systems
- Extensive experience designing databases, analyzing complex distributed production deployments, and optimizing performance
- Scripting in Python and shell
- Work experience with AWS - any or all of EC2, S3, EBS, DynamoDB, Keyspaces
- Monitoring and analysis of Linux systems (disk management, memory management, permissions, etc.) experience.
- Networking concepts and protocols (DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTPS, etc.) should be understood.
