Responsibilities:

In keeping with the Dignity Health Mission and Core Values, the Biomed Technician provides assistance to the medical and clinical staff in the safe operation and proper use of clinical equipment. The individual is responsible for the safety, performance and calibration of clinical and technical equipment involved in patient care. The individual demonstrates adherence to the hospital core values in all professional interactions and shows respect to all people, creating real value, initiating meaningful change, and exhibiting integrity.  This position is represented by SEIU UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • An engineering environment working with biomedical equipment, or equivalent, of at least three (3) years
  • Ability to administrate a system, interpret error codes, defragment hard drives, replace power supplies, and interpret computer codes is required
Preferred Requirements:
  • Associates Degree in a technical/electronics field or equivalent training required
  • Technical Certification (CBE)
Special Skills:
  • Knowledge of the most advanced troubleshooting, calibration, and repair techniques.
  • A working knowledge of the operation, the underlying physiological principles, and the safe and practical use of patientcare equipment.
