- Under supervision, evaluate basic customer biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs; as assigned, perform planned maintenance (PM), safety, environmental inspections and maintain effective customer relations. As directed, follow GE policies, procedures, hospital protocols and complete necessary documentation.
- Ensure daily communication with customers to ensure resolution and follow-up, resulting in customer satisfaction. Adhere to the GE/customer facility contract, supporting the business's goals and objectives.
- Assist more experienced technicians with progressive repairs and resolutions. Provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within the assigned area as a member of the local team.
- Ensure all repair actions are documented and submit reports/summaries on time. Maintain an approved parts inventory. Manage the vendor's service delivery processes in accordance with GE policies.
- Make sure spare parts, tools, and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated. Maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes and procedures for the safe and effective use of medical equipment.
- Compliance with the requirements of the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Environmental Health and Safety.
- Graduate from an A.S., B.S., M.S., diploma, or directly related certificate in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Imaging Technology, Mechanical Principles, or similar degree program or equivalent DOD military education OR current student of no more than 12 months from an A.S., B.S. or M.S. in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Imaging Technology, Mechanical Principles, or similar degree program or equivalent DOD military education OR graduate from an A.S., B.S., M.S. degree program and 1+ year of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT, or mechanical equipment.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- You must have experience and/or coursework related to the interpretation of schematic diagrams and troubleshooting and planned maintenance of basic diagnostic imaging and electronic equipment using current standards, codes, and procedures to ensure their safe and effective operation.
- Be able to build and maintain good relationships with customers.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
- Candidate must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull 35 pounds. Bending, stooping, twisting, climbing, crouching/squatting, kneeling/crawling, sitting and standing for long periods of time without assistance. The candidate must also be able to reach above and below shoulder level, flex and extend the neck, and have good hand and finger dexterity. This job may require color vision, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Unless your manager approves, you may not relocate more than 30 miles from your current location.
- Meet all Quality and Compliance training deadlines. Any and all customer quality or compliance concerns should be immediately reported to the Quality Organization.
- Ensure compliance with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they relate to this position.

- It may be necessary to obtain and/or provide proof of immunizations, and to conduct additional drug tests or background checks (such as a federal government background check if supporting a government contract).

- Previous experience interpreting schematic diagrams and performing effective repair and planned maintenance on basic biomedical or electronic equipment.
- Ability to develop and maintain good customer relations.
- Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy to understand manner.
- Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service process.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment in the electronic field - resulting in knowledge of electronic digital circuitry and understanding of electronic and electro-mechanical devices.
- Change agent and process oriented.
- Local candidates strongly preferred.
