Job Summary:

The Robotics AI team is seeking broad, curious engineers to join our team. We holistically design, build, and deliver end-to-end robotic systems. Our team is also responsible for core infrastructure and tools that serve as the backbone of our robotic applications, enabling robot cists, machine learning scientists, software engineers, and hardware engineers to collaborate and deploy systems in the field. As a Robotics AI hardware engineer, you will design, build, and test innovative systems and module designs such as robotic end of arm tools for our robot FC solutions. The ideal candidate has experience designing and analyzing mechanical systems, enjoys analytical problem solving and possesses practical knowledge of some rapid prototyping methods.

Key Job Responsibilities:

The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for:

• Work with an interdisciplinary team to improve and maintain existing product designs, including specification, design, prototyping, validation, and testing
• Ensure a smooth transition of design changes with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality organizations as well as vendors
• Developing requirements and functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
• Be an example of thorough engineering analysis and cradle-to-grave responsibility
• Mentoring coworkers

Basic Qualifications:

• MS in Mechanical Engineering or a similar degree
• Experience of 5+ years
• Mechatronics or Robotics background
• Coding basics
• Knowledge of systems architecture, design, and system integration of mechatronic devices.
• SolidWorks or similar experience with best practices for part design, advanced assemblies, and complex configuration management
• Experience with PDM and PLM
• Strong hands-on experience with the ability to create simple proof-of-concept models
• A thorough understanding of the principles, theories, and concepts of mechanical engineering
• Strong organizational skills as well as the ability to work well with teams of hardware and software engineers.
• Communicate concepts and proposals effectively
• Working in a fast-paced, agile environment is a must

Preferred Qualifications:

• Developed and deployed robots in production environments
• Proficiency in Agile Product Lifecycle Management PLM software and ECO's
• Working knowledge of rapid prototyping equipment (CNC, 3D printing, water jet, laser cutter, etc.)
