The role of this team is to develop Location Intelligence products designed to help Swiggy build a better understanding of the real world and enable hyperlocal optimizations that improve customer experience, growth, and profitability. We are looking for strong, highly motivated, independent engineers and data scientists who are enthusiastic about working with large scale geospatial data and AI (ML and Deep Learning) to enable location intelligence. Swiggy's ability to deliver food to customers relies on technology solutions built by the Location Intelligence Team.
We use our own internal data to develop hyperlocal Location Intelligence, which is part of the team's charter. Points of interest, POI metadata, addresses, routes, etc. Swiggy's Location Intelligence and Data Sciences team utilizes the travel time/route data of delivery partners to predict accurate delivery distance and ETA based on Swiggy's hyperlocal density. In order to provide customers with live tracking of order status and driver journey, delivery partners need access to high quality location intelligence. This ensures a great experience for both customers and delivery partners.

Job Description:
We are looking for what qualities?
- 2-4 years of experience developing applications
- DataStructures and Algorithms expertise, as well as strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Good knowledge of object-oriented/functional programming with proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java or Golang
- Expertise in one or more frameworks, such as Spring, Struts, Revel, Gin, etc.
- Strong skills in data modelling and low-level class design
- Extensive experience working with databases and Linux/Unix platforms
- Micro-services architecture and associated design patterns (CQRS, Saga, etc. ). Experience working with caching, message queues, streaming services, web-sockets, SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience with scalable systems (replication, sharding)
- Performance engineering experience (monitoring and actioning application performance stats) Experience with gRPC (HTTP2, Protocol buffers)
- It's a plus if you have experience with high-performing websites catering to millions of daily visitors Understanding of public cloud platforms like AWS, GCP or Azure
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Contribute to on-call responsibilities and improve operational excellence of the platform
- Write maintainable/scalable/efficient/testable code to solve business problems using industry coding standards
- Mentor and review code for other engineers
- Participate directly in discussions about system design and architecture
- Design, develop, test, deploy, debug, maintain, and improve the software from end to end
