- Provides routine technical support to customers regarding system equipment operation and maintenance
- Installs, repairs, and/or services company products on-site - This may include mechanical/system hardware, software, networking/wireless networking, and any other aspect of field support.
- Assists customers with routine technical and service issues
- Schedules and performs preventative maintenance in accordance with departmental policies
- Monitors customer equipment performance and is able to resolve most routine problems
- Refers complex problems and issues to higher authorities
- Delivers service within the normal scope of the position after receiving training
- Provides repair and installation support according to documented practices, policies, and procedures
- Diagnoses mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures based on established procedures
- Determines the most cost-effective repair/solution to minimize customer downtime
- Provides analysis, feedback, and recommendations on product failure trends and service issues
- Ensure that all activity is documented in accordance with the company's quality procedures
- Is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives on a daily basis
- Assures and maximizes customer satisfaction with Roche equipment and related products
- Ensures and maximizes the satisfaction of customers by maintaining consistent, effective, and positive communication.
- Maintain a level of goodwill, confidence, and credibility with customers in order to exceed customer expectations in terms of product, service, and support quality
- Determines revenue generating and cost saving opportunities, implements the Roche Diagnostics service agreement policy, and identifies opportunities to market service contracts to existing customers
- Ensures expenses are within departmental guidelines and controls inventory and company property
- A high school diploma, two years of technical school, or two years of equivalent military training or work experience
- Experience repairing or servicing complex mechanical/system hardware or software, or networking/wireless networking for 5 years, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 1-2 years of experience repairing or servicing complex mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking
- Successfully completing training or certification as determined by RD Services Leadership and policy
- Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, and information technology
- Ability to serve as a technical resource for lower-level employees
- Basic knowledge of chemistry
- Work after hours, provide weekend and holiday support on a rotating basis within an assigned territory and/or geographic region, and be on call 24/7 during rotation
- Communication, organization, and prioritization skills
- Customer service skills, which include a positive attitude, helpful customer interaction, and maintaining customer relationships
- You must be able to travel, including overnight trips
