Roles and Responsibilities:

Role Summary:

Responds to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, perform repair/planned maintenance (PM) on progressively complex customer's biomedical equipment, and drives customer satisfaction through Service Excellence.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate complex, customer biomedical equipment issues, and implement appropriate repairs.
  • Conduct planned maintenance (PM), safety and environmental inspections, and maintain effective customer relations.
  • As needed, follow GE policies, procedures, hospital protocols, and complete necessary documentation.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with teammates and colleagues.
  • Communicate with customers on a daily basis to ensure resolution and proper follow-up
  • Customer satisfaction goes up.
  • Implement the GE/customer facility contract to support business objectives.
  • Direct, instruct, and assist technicians in basic and complex repairs and resolutions.
  • Provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within the assigned area as a member of the local team.
  • Sharing responsibility for on-calls and pagers.
  • Document all repair actions and submit reports/summaries according to the schedule.
  • Maintain spare parts, tools, and test equipment, and ensure calibration.
  • Maintain an approved parts inventory.
  • Manage vendors' service delivery processes in accordance with GE policies.
  • To improve and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures regarding safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction.
  • Perform the role of Site Leader (direct the activities of fellow Biomedical Technicians assigned to site, engage in a more interactive customer relationship, which may include participating in a Safety Committee or other activities related to the overall account activity).
  • Meet Health and Human Services, Environment, Health, and Safety requirements, as well as all other applicable regulations.
Qualifications :
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of experience servicing medical equipment; OR equivalent military education and 2+ years of experience servicing electrical or mechanical equipment; OR High School Diploma/GED and 4+ years of experience servicing medical equipment.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to customers in an easy-to-understand manner through analytical skills and communication skills.
  • The successful applicant must pass GEHC's standard background check, which includes a post-employment review
  • Provide drug testing. Additionally, the employee must comply with all customer access policies, including but not limited to obtaining and/or providing proof of immunizations and additional drug tests or background checks (including a federal government background check if assigned to support a contract with the federal government).
  • Candidate must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull 35 pounds. Bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods of time without assistance. A candidate must also be able to reach above and below shoulder level, flex and extend their necks, and have good hand and finger dexterity. It is possible that this position requires specific vision abilities, including color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and near vision.
  • A willingness to work a rotating On-Call schedule, including weekends, for critical issues and coverage.

  • Complete all planned Quality and Compliance training within the defined deadlines.
