Description:
The Logistics Data Scientist is a key role within the Manufacturing Logistics Operations organization, based in Singapore
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
- Analyze complex logistics data (Freight and Warehouse Materials Flow) to improve business processes internally and cross-functionally
- By using data-driven insight and analysis, define and establish operational metrics.
- Creating data visualization and dashboards for tactical operational management and the manager's view
- Training users on dashboards and data maintenance
- Establish causal relationships with statistics and solve problems using data-driven techniques.
- Establish metrics and dashboards to enable analytics insights and deep dives into gap analysis with cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Materials and Production Control). Identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure accurate and effective performance/metric data by implementing changes
- Automate data connectivity and processes by building models and methods.
- Manage complex, unstructured information extraction projects
- Act Us Logistics in partnership with Manufacturing will drive initiatives to connect SMART Factory data.
Qualifications & Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in industrial engineering, computer/data science or statistics
- Experience with visual analytics platforms (e.g. Tableau), query languages (e.g. SQL), preprocessing, and statistical analysis using Unix, Python, R
- Experience of at least five years in the relevant field
- Analyzing data in a business setting and implementing improvement solutions
Skills and Competencies:
- Experience with SAP EWM/ECC systems preferred
- Having knowledge and understanding of manufacturing logistics warehouse operations, supply chain concepts, and application.
- Capable of applying data science techniques and distilling complex data into actionable operations improvement solutions
- Ability to communicate data science solutions to business stakeholders in the context of process improvement.
- Ability to solve problems critically with good time management
- High learning agility in learning new data science techniques in logistics / manufacturing
- Ability to work independently under pressure and adapt quickly to changing business priorities
- Detail-oriented and highly accurate data
- Ability to effectively work and collaborate with a culturally diverse cross-functional team
- English writing and speaking skills are excellent, as are interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Notebook, and Access)
