- Ideally, you should have at least four years of proven project management experience
- Studies Project Managers must have a solid understanding of the human research study life cycle and be capable of managing studies with varying levels of data collection requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with a track record of completing projects on time
- Self-motivated, proactive, with resourcefulness and critical thinking to drive the project to success
- Working with and managing vendors and/or external study sites
- Budgeting/financial forecasting experience in a project or study context
- Some travel is required, up to approximately 10%
- Experience in R&D or consumer product development is preferred
- The research projects manager has a responsibility to develop, manage, and communicate project definitions, development milestones, project schedules, and project status with colleagues across departments and with external vendors.
- Among your other responsibilities: building and managing budgets, putting together risk mitigation plans, leading teams to execution, reporting and presenting to senior management on project status and timelines.
- You need to be able to prioritize issues, track details, and keep track of the big picture at the same time.
- As a fearless organizer, you are prepared to work with the highly skilled internal hardware and software design teams in order to deliver successful studies that meet deadlines, data quality requirements, and budgets.
- Being familiar with the changing dynamics of research and development will help you thrive in this role.
