We are currently implementing a ten-year strategy to 2025, and our vision for the next decade is to establish UNSW as Australia's global university. The position is within the Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering.
Job Description:
Taking advantage of the opportunity
Within the newly established Tyree Foundation Institute of Health Engineering, you will work as part of an established team to conduct research and development in the field of data driven telehealth services. It is an opportunity to engage in research and develop new tools and techniques, write scientific papers and reports for international journals, and present at conferences and workshops.
The Postdoctoral Fellow reports to the Head of School and has no direct reports.
- Level A - Salary, $98,342 to $105,185 per year + 17% superannuation
- Working full-time
- 12 month fixed-term contract
- Kensington - Sydney, Australia
- In light of the current travel restrictions into Australia, we will be giving preference to candidates who are currently residing in Australia and/or have Australian working rights.
Experience & Skills:
- A PhD in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research under limited supervision.
- Publishes and presents at conferences in accordance with opportunity.
- Ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines, and build effective relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a wide range of stakeholders and students.
- Expert in data science and computational algorithms in bioinformatics.
- Fluent in the Typescript programming language.
- Expertise in server architecture design and cloud technologies.
- Experience with Python programming for data analysis.
- Expertise in the development of cross-platform mobile apps using React / React Native.
- Understanding and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives, and values, as well as relevant policies and guidelines.
