Job Description

  • We are looking for highly motivated candidates with relevant training and expertise in assistive and rehabilitation system design, sensing, and control at the NUS Biorobotics Lab with the Department of Biomedical Engineering. General scope of work including: mechanism design, real-time control system software development, dynamic modeling, control system design, intelligent sensing, AI and machining learning, human biomechanics analysis and testing.
  • The National University of Singapore is seeking postdoctoral researchers with expertise in machine learning and geometric deep learning models.
  • There are several M40 and V100 GPU systems in the laboratory for deep learning, as well as computing clusters for large data sets. Additionally, our laboratory has 2000T of medical image data that is sufficient for deep learning applications.
  • The postdoctoral fellow will improve geometric deep learning. To be addressed are imbalanced data, scalability, transfer, self-supervision, etc., in prediction, inference, and planning, with applications in medical imaging. 
  • Ph.D. degree required. A good track record of publications on major machine learning, AI, or related conferences and journals.
  • Good communication and writing skills in English
Qualifications

Candidate should have a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical engineering, Computer Science, or Biomedical Engineering. Candidates who are in the final stages of PhD studies (i.e submitted thesis/ pending oral defense) may also be considered.

Candidate should have expertise and practical experience and track record in at least one of the following technical areas:
  • Robot mechanisms and actuators design. Robotic arm, robotic hand and end effectors, mobile platforms, kinematics and dynamics modeling and analysis. Practical experience with design for manufacturing.
  • Hardware and software development with embedded system, real-time control, and ROS.
  • Intelligent control system design for robotics systems.
  • Wearable robotics, exoskeletons, and rehabilitation robots.
  • Human biomechanics, human sensory motor control, neuroscience, neuro-rehabilitation.
  • Intelligent sensing and machine learning, including visual and tactile, for robot manipulation and grasping
  • Design and control for physical human robot interaction
  • Strong communication skills in both oral and written English
  • Strong track record of publication of high impact journal papers for candidates with PhD degrees.
