Kiani founded Masimo in 1989 as a private "garage start-up" business because he believed that adaptive signal processing could solve the problems of low perfusion and motion which had long plagued in-vivo monitoring and specifically pulse oximetry, the measurement of arterial blood oxygen saturation. Masimo SET® Measure-through Motion* and Low PerfusionTM pulse oximetry showed the highest sensitivity and specificity when identifying desaturation events during conditions of motion and low perfusion in a study comparing three pulse oximetry technologies.
- Receive and respond to phone calls and emails from end users
- Troubleshoot first level issues with customers
- Returns from the field that require service must be processed and replaced with either 1) defective parts or 2) a new device
- Handle warranty and non-warranty return requests. Enter customer service orders
- All field failures and customer complaints should be reported according to the Masimo Quality System
- Identify potential customer training issues and offer solutions
- Deliver Masimo parts to customers
- Work closely with all Masimo groups: Singapore Team, Irvine Tech Support, Engineering, Marketing, and Quality Assurance
- Keep a list of frequently asked questions
- Product enhancement ideas should be communicated to Engineering and Marketing
- Ensure that Customer/Technical Support processes and procedures are efficient and effective
- Maintain flexibility to allow for changes within broad policies and practices to complete established goals
- Follow up on product and training issues to ensure overall customer satisfaction
- Lift and/or carry tools/equipment up to 20 kilograms
- All other duties as assigned or required
- Graduates in Biomedical Engineering or related fields are welcome to apply
- Up to five years of related experience
- Understanding of basic engineering principles, troubleshooting, electronics, and design
- A knowledge of TCP/IP networking in a wireless environment is a plus.
- Microsoft Windows 7/10 Professional operating system knowledge
- A basic understanding of Linux programming would be a plus
- Capable of performing detailed work with high degree of accuracy due to strong 'hands-on' skills
- Self-starter, "hands-on" individual who enjoys a challenge and is dedicated to completing the job without much instruction or support
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
- Communicate technical ideas clearly to technical and non-technical staff
- Flexibility in reacting to new situations; adaptability to new environments
- Focus on results, a positive "can do" attitude, and a sense of urgency
- Multitasking skills that are effective
- On-site support requires local travel to hospitals. Maintaining customer perspective requires periodic customer visit.
