Located in Bangalore, we are seeking a talented Associate Data Scientist, Modeling & Analytics Digital R&D

Using insights gained from analyzing data, the Data Scientist will support our Product Innovation and Science & Technology teams in R&D. To find functional insights into various biological processes, the ideal candidate is adept at using large biology data sets. In addition, the candidate should apply analytics for product and process optimization and use models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. Should have experience using tools and databases related to human biology and the microbiome to analyze omics datasets. Expertise in using data mining and data analysis methods, applying a variety of tools, building models, creating algorithms, and performing simulations. Work effectively with diverse stakeholders and functional teams. In addition to a passion for discovering the answers hidden in large data sets, the right candidate should be able to work closely with stakeholders to help them improve business results.
Job Responsibilities:
Participate in and collaborate with globally distributed, multidisciplinary teams in designing and implementing efficient, well-focused, statistically fit-for-purpose studies, analyzing, visualizing and interpreting data, and building and validating models and simulations.
Conduct multi-omics data analysis with help from Biology teams, primarily. Chemometricians, microbiologists, and network biologists should have a solid working knowledge of these fields.
Analyze biomedical and related datasets mathematically and statistically. Innovations in biology/non-biology datasets leveraging machine learning/artificial intelligence, deep learning methods, and network science.
Conducted up skilling sessions with non-experts and built capabilities to be democratized.
Team members should include product formulators, process engineers, packaging engineers, clinicians, measurement scientists, bioinformaticians, claim experts, and other data scientists, both within Unilever and externally.
Apply analytics skills beyond the biology dataset to demonstrate agility.
Analytical results and insights should be communicated effectively to senior management and program management.
Requirements:
We are seeking candidates with a Master's Degree and 6-9 years of experience in Computational Biology/Data Science or equivalent. It isa plus if you have experience in the FMCG, retail, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods industries.
Technical Skills:- The ability to apply bioinformatics/data science for scientific research is demonstrated by depth of technical knowledge and breadth of operational experience.
- Expertise in analyzing transcriptomic, microbiomic, interactomics, and proteomic data.
- Capable of conducting multi-omics analyses.
- Analyze biological data at the system level.
- The ability to analyze networks and visualize them using network analysis tools and databases.
- A thorough understanding of ML/AI techniques and applications, as well as NLP algorithms and image analytics.
- (High proficiency is required in Python and R). It would be helpful if you had experience developing R-Shiny/Python-Dash apps and had a working knowledge of Power BI.
- Writing and communication skills that are strong in the scientific field
