Summary:
Assist with all aspects of mechanical engineering, such as the design of HVAC equipment and duct systems, sizing of pumps and equipment, duct routing and sizing and duct sizing of pumps, as well as fire protection systems. To ensure customer satisfaction and timely project completion, the qualified candidate will work with a team of technicians, engineers, drafters and surveyors.

Job Functions:
  • Responsible for mechanical project development to include technical writing, selected construction inspections, quality control and submittal reviews beyond the expertise of a construction manager.
  • Manages quality, safety, personnel scheduling, and performance for the Site Manager.
  • Maintains notification information with the PWS, prepares project reports and CDRLs, and attends meetings as necessary.
  • Performing engineering analysis and checking accuracy, such as calculating load and sizing equipment.
  • Ensures projects are designed and engineered correctly.
  • Assist in determining HVAC loads, equipment selection, duct sizing and routing, interior plumbing design, and exterior plumbing design
  • Ensures that all work areas are clean, orderly, and safe.
  • Respects all environmental regulations, including hazardous waste disposal, ozone-depleting substances, and ozone-depleting chemicals.
  • All government and contractor property must be used properly and safeguarded.
  • Obtains training in compliance with OSHA requirements and United States Air Force (USAF) requirements.
  • Maintains accurate time reports and the completion of accurate timesheets according to company procedures.
  • According to contract requirements, functional requirements, and mission requirements, perform other duties.
Education & Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of four to six
(4 – 6) years of experience. Professional Engineer license preferred.

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Provide designs, prepare drawings using AutoCAD 2012 or later, prepare statements of work, AF form 66 submittal registers, and estimate project costs.
  • Technical expertise, excellent organizational skills, solid quality control, and excellent customer service skills
  • Skills in communication - Ability to analyze problems and solve them
  • Coordination and management of multiple priorities as well as multiple tasks with the engineering team members
