Furthermore, this position coordinates the implementation of customer projects and technical support activities. Among the responsibilities of this position are research and development of medical devices, analysis and testing of medical devices and materials, as well as participation in cGMP manufacturing processes and improvement of medical devices. Moreover, the position is responsible for executing customer projects and providing technical support.
1)Laboratory
- Work on experiments for: (1) medical device research and development, (2) analytical and performance testing of medical devices and polymers, (3) Quality Control testing of medical devices and polymers, (4) engineering, design, development, and scaling of medical device polymeric processes, and (5) cGMP manufacturing operations.
- Data and results are generated, analyzed, and tabulated.
- Documentation of results, observations, data, and experimental methods should be detailed and accurate.
- Take action as directed by management to maintain, calibrate, and improve facilities, equipment, and procedures.
- Utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriate for the type of hazard and potential exposure. Identification and resolution of safety problems is an active part of the job.
- As requested, provide a complete summary of experimental methods, results, data, observations, and conclusions.
- May supervise laboratory and/or technical activities; can train technicians and/or staff.
- Contribute to a written report or summary of a project.
- Keeping abreast of the latest scientific literature is necessary for maintaining current scientific knowledge.
3)Compliance:
- Maintain and generate thorough and accurate documentation supporting conformance to SOP, cGMP, and GLP regulations and procedures.
- Ensure you are up-to-date on training requirements. Maintain a time log for each project.
Requirements:
- An undergraduate degree is preferred, but a master's or doctoral degree is preferred. An engineering discipline related to mechanical engineering (Materials Science, Biomedical, Polymer Science, Biomechanical, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering)
- Experience with Solid works and 3D Printing is needed
- Experience in a relevant laboratory is a plus
- Prefer experience with medical devices
- Experience developing products is preferred
- Experience with CNC machining is preferred
